NOTE: This site was launched in 1999, and redesigned in 2001 after nearly 5,000 hits, for the benefit of former student journalists who covered the events of May 4,1970 at Kent State University in Ohio. Those former student journalists gathered on campus May 4, 2000 -- many for the first time in 30 years -- to commemorate the events of 1970.

Now, after more than 19,000 additional hits, this site was redesigned in May 2003 for the benefit of researchers, students and others interested in learning about the day the Ohio National Guard opened fire on Kent State students.
